Do it for the Lord!!!

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31
Whatever you do, do it for the glory of the Lord. I don’t think many people comprehend that because I sure don’t. It is really hard to be happy and joyful when one of your parents says to go clean the bathroom or wash the dishes. Usually the first thing that pops into your head is “Ugh, am I the only one that can do anything around here?” What that verse is saying is that we do things in return for what He has given us. If you’re mad you have to do the laundry just be thankful you have clothes to wear. If you’re mad you have to take out the trash just be happy you have food to eat. It also says
For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten son, so that we may not perish but have everlasting life
John 3:16
So don’t you think that since someone died for us we should do everything for him and do it with a huge smile on our faces? If you give someone twenty dollars don’t you want them to do at least something for you with a smile? Now I’m not saying that we’re repaying God for what He’s done and will because we aren’t and will not. I’m saying that we should be thankful for everything he has done. Did you know that even you take out the trash and do it for the Lord and not because you have to you’re actually worshiping him!
I want you to do everything this week for the Lord….. and do it with a smile!!!!!!

Hold it!

Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
James 3:1-12
Our tongues are the most powerful part of our body. They control almost every consequence whether it’s good or bad. What you say affects peoples’ lives forever. When you tell someone they look good or they beautiful/cool hair they remember for a long time. But they also remember the negative a lot longer than the good. Did you know that if you insult it will take 7 compliments to make it up? Every single thing affects you and others. You need to hold your tongue. I need to especially because I insult the most of all. So lets hold each other accountable. You keep praying about this and work on it this month and I will too.
